PROJECT
LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship (LCE) between October
2023 and April 2025. This 18-month intervention was funded
by the US Department of State with the aim of building
entrepreneurial hubs in Business Incubation Centres (BICs)
across universities in Punjab.
Through the project, LCE worked with 15 BICs on their
institutional development, equipping them to better support
their entrepreneurial communities. Through tailored trainings
for faculty and managers, bootcamps and workshops,
LCE helped the participating BICs in their organizational,
managerial, 昀椀nancial and L&D development. A special focus
was paid to the development of prototyping facilities, such
as makers spaces. Additionally, a highly valuable 2-week
immersive exchange programme to the United States
allowed all BIC representatives to learn from the American
entrepreneurial ecosystem, facilitating knowledge exchange
with the global community. The exchange program

SPRINT PAKISTAN,
BANK OF PUNJAB
LCE co-designed and executed the ‘Sprint Pakistan Hackathon’
alongside the Bank of Punjab and ecosystem partners, o昀昀ering
a nationwide platform for start-ups to pitch their ideas and
compete across eight regional nodes including Lahore, Karachi,
Quetta, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Faisalabad and
Hunza. Over 270 applications were received and over 100 startups pitched in the city wise rounds. Finally, ten winning start-ups were selected from across the country, who received cash prizes,
fully-funded travel to the Singapore Fintech Festival, and the opportunity to pitch to global 昀椀ntech investors and stakeholders.
The Singapore Fintech Festival is a major annual global innovation event that convenes entrepreneurs, investors, and industry
leaders to exchange ideas and promote cutting-edge 昀椀ntech developments. The ‘Sprint Pakistan’ hackathon was part of a larger
collaboration between LCE and the Bank of Punjab where both organisations have a long-standing commitment to promote startup growth and innovation by enabling experimentation, co-creation, and impactful engagement in the 昀椀ntech domain.
